Gilbert Cerda, CFP®

Gilbert is the co-founder and lead financial planner at Cerda Munoz Advisors, Inc. He helps clients manage their personal finances through the use of investment, tax and financial planning strategies.

Prior to starting the firm, Gilbert was a Financial Planner at a regional financial services firm. During his tenure, he helped grow the firm, restructured the operations and regularly creating financial planning strategies for High-Net Worth clients. Prior to that, Gilbert was an Accountant for a Certified Public Accounting firm. Gilbert began his career in the year 2000 when he volunteered for an after school internship program at a financial services firm. He began in the mail room and worked his way up, developing valuable skills along the way. He has extensive experience in the field of tax and investments.

Gilbert received his Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Southern California. He received a Certificate of Financial Planning from Boston University and is a Certified Financial Planner™. He has served as a mentor and on the finance committee of College Bound Today, a non-profit organization that helps high school students prepare for college.

Aaron Munoz, CFP®, EA

Aaron is the Co-founder and lead financial advisor at Cerda Munoz Advisors, Inc. He meets with clients and helps them create financial planning strategies so they can achieve their goals. His caring and trustworthiness approach makes clients feel at ease when they face a financial problem. Aaron has been on the financial services industry since 1994. He began in the insurance industry at his firm. He was then recruited to join an up and coming financial planning firm where he learned the ins and outs of running a business.

Aaron received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles. He received a Certificate of Financial Planning from the Denver College of Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner and an Enrolled Agent.

Wendy R. Cano, Financial Associate

Wendy is a financial associate at Cerda Munoz Advisors, Inc. She works in the tax and investment division of the firm and is responsible for implementing and following through on all tax and investment strategies made by the lead advisor. She joined the firm in December 2015.

Prior to joining the firm, Wendy was in the finance and accounting department of the Hudson Group D.C. She was responsible for financial forecasting, processing invoices and reconciling the firm's accounts receivable.

Wendy received her Bachelor's of Science degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She holds a tax preparer certificate.

Elizabeth Bazan, Financial Associate

Elizabeth is a CFP® Candidate & financial associate at Cerda Munoz Advisors, Inc. She works in the financial planning division of the firm and is responsible for implementing and following through on all financial planning strategies made by the lead advisor. She joined the firm in December 2018.

Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth worked in the window manufacturing industry for 5 years. She was responsible for providing detailed information about products, accounts receivable, and ensuring the company’s software was up to date. During this time Elizabeth also interned in the environmental industry.

Elizabeth received her Bachelor’s of Science degree (Finance) from California State University, Northridge.

Natalie A. Guerrero, Administrative Assistant

Natalie is an administrative assistant at Cerda Munoz Advisors. She works in the administrative division of the firm and is responsible for managing and distributing information within the office. She joined the firm in June 2020.

She is a Business Economics major at the University of California, Irvine and will be graduating 2021.

Melissa J. Cortez, Administrative Assistant

Melissa is an administrative assistant at Cerda Munoz Advisors. She works in the marketing division of the firm and is responsible for implementing and following through on all financial planning and investment strategies made by the lead advisor. She joined the firm in November 2020.

Prior to joining the firm, Melissa conducted research at the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, where she co-managed a mixed-methods study aimed to understand the barriers to the Earned Income Tax Credit and investigate the economic impact of Covid-19 on low-income families.

Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Public Health) with a minor in Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
